UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Craig
Preview and Prediction of UFC Fight Night Brendan Allen verse Paul Craig
Brendan Allen -440 (22-5)✅ vs. Paul Craig +320 (17-6-1)
Brendan Allen, 22-5, 27, is currently riding high on a 5 fight win streak. At age 27, Allen’s resume is stacked some of his accolades include a black belt in BJJ, tied for the second most submissions in UFC history with 5, 2 time LFA middleweight champion and a laundry list of notable UFC wins (wins against Kevin Holland, Kyle Daukaus, Sam Alvey, Krzysztof Jotko, Andre Muniz and Bruno Silva).
Paul Craig, 17-6-1, 35, is also a black belt in BJJ. The submission specialist is an 8 time UFC performance of the night winner, holds the second most submission finishes in Light Heavyweight history (4 triangle choke submission wins), is the former BAMMA Light Heavyweight champ and earned a list of notable wins in his time with the UFC (Magomed Ankhalev, Kennedy Nzeckwu, Mauricio Rua, Jamahal Hill, Nikita Krylov and Andre Muniz).
This is an interesting matchup because both fighters can be considered submission specialists. Typically when there are two guys that rely heavily on their ground work to finish fights, the fight tends to become a stand and bang. Both fighters are 13-1 when it comes to submission victories, Allen is 5-2 when it comes to KO/TKO victories and Craig is 4-4 when it comes to KO/TKO victories. The ground game appears to be even, Craig is dominant from bottom position where he excels in triangle chokes and Allen is dominant in top position where he excels in rear naked chokes. Allen’s stand up seems to be more polished and I believe this will give him the victory and extend his winning streak to 6 fights. Allen wins by way of ground and pound TKO.
